The new BIM Mensa opened this semester, and we wanted to know what you think of it. From 20 October to 7 November, we asked you students for any feedback. For all 70 of you that answered, thank you!
It is important for us to get some idea about what the general opinion is and to hear about incidents or special situations. Using this information we can more easily make a a case and better represent the opinion of informatics students in front of the university.
Here is what you told us.

I think the current setup is great as long as the old mensa stays open. It gives us more options: a bit more expensive but better in BIM, and the OG experience in BIN
Anonymous participant why does the meat and vegetarian options cost the same?
Anonymous participant food is good, though not very affordable for many students and the portion size does not justify the price. Students at a uni mensa should be allowed to bring their own food and have lunch with their friends!
Anonymous participant Food quality is better but it's also more expensive. I'd say, altogether still a fair deal (i.e., higher price more or less justifies better quality). Seating availability is sometimes quite bad (around 12-12:15). What really annoys me is that the new coffee bar closes at 14:00…
Anonymous participant More lactose free meals:)
Anonymous participant I love it there! Best food at whole UZH and cozy vibes! I am amazed and so grateful
Anonymous participant Why is it more expensive? University prices should be constant, and I think the cost is excessive (especially coffee, how is an espresso 3.80???). However, the food is great.

We will share these results with the university and the mensa, so they get clear and honest feedback from students. We will let you know what comes out of it.
